The tax man cometh with his empty bags and plots to pick our pockets. As in times past we are counting on you to provide as much relief and succor as possible. Since we became involved, some ten years ago and more, Revenue Canada has never questioned a submission. You have established for us a reputation for proper reporting that included income earned abroad and that we chose to declare. This was fortuitous as when it came time to deal with a family estate problem, Revenue Canada received our submissions with courtesy and open mindedness. The disposal of the family estate entailed dealings with legal firms and entities offshore as well as financial institutions of extraordinary discretion. A process that could have taken years to settle was brought to fruition in slightly more than a year. Revenue Canada settled quickly without disputing any part of the submission.
